Press freedom day: Journalists demand protection bill

The resolution demanded that the provincial government pass a journalist protection bill

The journalists of Balochistan have demanded from the provincial government to pass a journalist protection bill from the Balochistan Assembly.


A resolution was passed in Quetta Press Club during an international press freedom day seminar which was arranged by the Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) and other affiliates on Tuesday.


The resolution demanded that the provincial government pass a journalist protection bill from the Balochistan Assembly which had been approved by the journalists.


Information adviser to the chief minister Sardar Raza Muhammad Barrech, who was the chief guest, said that Balochistan government recognises the problems of the province and will help journalists secure their rights.


President Balochistan Union of Journalist Hafiz Hammadullah said that journalism has become one of the toughest jobs in Balochistan.
