What’s your first memory of each other?
Madiha: The first time I laid eyes on him was when he was a few hours old. My grandfather tickled his toes and he pulled them into his yellow, frilly baby-wrap. It was the happiest day of my life. I jumped on the sofa in excitement all day.
Mujtaba: I can’t really recall a “first memory”, but I definitely remember us lying down, with our grandfather in the middle, preparing for our afternoon nap. The secret to this magic nap was that our dada (more like our mother) used to give us both milk feeders that he had saved for us from our yester years. PS: I was seven and Madiha was eleven!
What is the craziest thing you have done together?
Madiha: Everything we do together is a different
type of crazy.
Mujtaba: We were once driving around Lahore and I was totally showing off in front of this really good-looking friend of Madiha’s. Being the amateur driver that I am, I bashed into a brand new Mercedes on MM Alam road. God, I can’t forget that day. Some how I managed to reverse the car and drove off. Phew!
What did you get punished for the most as a child?
Madiha: My dear brother’s mischievous endeavors. He was extremely naughty and I always protected him so we both got punished together.
Mujtaba: Everything!
If you could only wear one piece of clothing for the rest of your life, from the others closet, what would it be?
Madiha: His black hoody.
Mujtaba: Her hijaab.
If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would do?
Madiha: Die of an overdose of socialising on the first day.
Mujtaba: Start being selfish.
What is the one thing you love about your sibling?
Madiha: His generosity towards mankind.
Mujtaba: She has a beautiful voice.
If you are fighting with each other, how do you make up?
Madiha: I throw a tantrum. He rolls his eyes. We talk. We agree to disagree and move on. As teenagers we used to slam a lot of doors — that was fun!
Mujtaba: To be honest, it’s been really tough making up. Mostly we would break each other’s faces and wait for time to heal the situation!
What is the one secret talent your sibling has, that you wish you did too?
Madiha: He can disconnect with his surroundings and stays calm at the most stressful of times.
Mujtaba: She has her way with babies and pets.
Describe your sibling in three words?
Madiha: Upbeat, stylish, and crazy.
Mujtaba: She always has to have “the last word”.
Which fictional character is your brother/sister most like?
Madiha: He’s a less evil version of Chuck Bass.
Mujtaba: Burka Avenger.
How are your personalities similar?
Madiha: We are both liberated and grounded at the same time.
Mujtaba: They’re not similar!
I can’t live without my brother/sister because…
Madiha: He’s my safety net.
Mujtaba: She’s my conscience.
