Shehzad thanks Younus after leading K-P to Pakistan Cup trophy

The 24-year-old also thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board for organising the tournament

A proud Ahmed Shehzad took to Twitter on Monday to congratulate his team for winning the 2016 Pakistan Cup.

After being awarded the best batsman award, the 24-year-old appreciated the guidance of Younus Khan and also thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for organising the tournament.

Shehzad, who scored 62 off 45 balls in the final against the Shoaib Malik-led Punjab side, also felicitated Najam Sethi for organising a brilliant Pakistan Cup.

He also hoped the event becomes a big platform for youngsters.

Shehzad had to stand in as captain for two matches against Sindh and Balochistan after Younus left the event citing dubious umpiring standards. Younus was then allowed to come back by the PCB after he forwarded an apology in response to the show-cause notice served to him.

Shehzad, in his two matches as captain, led the team to victories and Younus appreciated his efforts and said Pakistan have found their future captain.
