KARACHI:

Inauguration of the Nishan-e-Pakistan monument at Sea View on Friday evening became a bane for nearby residents as well as commuters using the main thoroughfare as security personnel cordoned off the area a day before the event.

The road between Sea View McDonald's and Khayaban-e-Bahria had been closed the entire day on Friday and was scheduled to reopen at 9pm.

According to the Karachi traffic police public relations officer, the road between Ghora [Horse] Chowrangi and Khayaban-e-Bahria was closed till 9pm. Commuters were asked to use alternate routes, he added.

The alternative route was from Khayaban-e-Shamsheer to Saba Avenue and Dolmen Mall to Ghora Chowrangi, and then towards Tauheed Commercial.
