Promoting education: School for girls inaugurated in Swabi

Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Takashi Kurai inaugurated SESWA



Model School in Swabi, stated a press release issued on Tuesday.


“The primary and middle level school for girls was built with the financial support of $99,394,” the statement read. “It was provided by the government of Japan to Shewa Education Social Workers Association (SESWA), an NGO.”


The inauguration ceremony was attended by NGO workers, education and health ministers and schoolchildren. The school was designed to accommodate 300 girls which would help create new opportunities for girls in the area.


On the occasion, Kurai emphasised the importance of basic education for the development of countries and highlighted the critical need to create opportunities for Pakistani girls.


He hoped this project would strengthen relations between Japan and Pakistan.
