ISLAMABAD:

A parliamentary panel will take up the issues of overseas Pakistanis and make recommendations for their redressal next week.

The sub-committee of the Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development includes Senator Lieutenant General (retired) Abdul Qayyum, Senator Aurangzeb Khan and Senator Nighat Mirza.

The first meeting of the committee will discuss some key issues, including passport woes of overseas Pakistanis, particularly those commuting to and from Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Senator Nighat Mirza told The Express Tribune that she will raise the recent restriction placed by the Saudi government on granting the multiple-entry visas to Pakistani and Afghan nationals.

She said this step would cause difficulties for people visiting Saudi Arabia.
