Footwear industry: TEVTA to start training courses

TEVTA will be responsible for examination and certification through Trade Testing Board (TTB) and PBTE

ISLAMABAD:
Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) would start seven new short courses for providing trained manpower to footwear industry in collaboration with Pakistan Footwear Manufacturing Association (PFMA). Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that TEVTA had already started ‘Shoe Upper Stitcher’ programme in collaboration with PFMA. TEVTA will provide training institute, faculty and curriculum whereas PFMA will provide machines and equipment, training consumable, internship, advisory support in curricula modification, expert lectures and job opportunities to graduating students. Training delivery mode will be 30% institutional training and 70% company driven training. TEVTA will be responsible for examination and certification through Trade Testing Board (TTB) and Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE).
