Opportunities: Rozee.pk holds job fair for prospective employees
Online job portal hopes to register 1m people in a series of eight job fairs
KARACHI:
A large number of job seekers on Sunday thronged Rozee.pk’s event ‘Parvaaz’, an ongoing series of job fairs that the online portal is conducting in different cities of the country.
The Karachi’s job fair event was the fifth of the series whose first three events have already been held on consecutive Sundays in Faisalabad, Multan, Lahore and Peshawar.
“We are hoping to register 1 million people in our database by the end of our eighth job fair in Islamabad,” Parvaaz Project Head Ali Javaid Khilji told The Express Tribune.
Rozee.pk officials say their database consists of over 6.5 million people, which is expected to get a big boost by these eight events. There are over 500 companies from different sectors that are participating in this series of events.
The event was attended by students as well as professionals who came there in search of better job opportunities.
“We have been doing job fairs on a regular basis, but Parvaaz is equipped with more features in which we were offering ‘mentoring clinic’ and other career guidance initiatives. Karachi’s job fair has attracted many more professionals something we were targeting especially for this series,” he added.
According to Khilji, over 30,000 participants had already visited the event by 3pm. The organisers were targeting over 50,000 visitors in the one-day event, which was held from 10am to 6pm.
Fresh graduates usually say they don’t get access to pitch themselves before Human Resource (HR) heads of the companies. Such events are a very good opportunity for them where they can come and personally meet people who do hiring for their companies, commented Khilji.

“We are working at Gwadar port on some mega projects and for that we need huge manpower over the next few years,” said China Overseas Ports Holding Company Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd Head of Research & Business Development Aamir Iqbal Khan, whose staff was busy collecting resumes for openings in engineering fields.
