Inquiry: Police initiate probe against anti-terror cop
Alleged target killer names DSP Ali Raza for supporting MQM’s militants

Top police officials have initiated an inquiry against the anti-terror officer DSP Ali Raza of the counter-terrorism department after the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) target killer Umair Siddiqui named him for supporting the party’s militant wing.
Umair Siddiqui, a former in-charge of the party's Gulshan-e-Maymar sector was arrested by Rangers last year. During joint interrogation, Siddiqui confessed that he used to review the interrogation reports of arrested workers which were taken over by MQM'S Karachi Tanzimee Committee's (KTC) in-charge Hammad Siddiqui.
A senior official of the counter-terrorism department said that a departmental inquiry against the CTD officer had been initiated to verify the allegations made by the accused.
The joint investigation team (JIT) also said that since the accused has been involved in anti-state activities and waging war against Pakistan, his trial may also be initiated through the military courts.
