ISLAMABAD:
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has given a green signal to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for holding a political gathering on its foundation day in Islamabad on April 24.

The security czar ordered on Saturday the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration to settle all matters in this context with the local leadership of the party.

Nisar also asked the concerned authorities to ensure that no hurdle is created in convening of political demonstration of PTI.

PTI leadership should give the guarantee that the participants of the gathering would peacefully disperse on the given time, he added.

Earlier on April 15, the government had decided to grant PTI conditional approval to hold a public gathering at Fatima Jinnah Park on April 24 – when the party will commemorate its 20th foundation day.

A meeting held at the interior ministry deliberated over the matter and came up a plan that included seeking assurances from PTI in writing that it would not deviate from the government’s guidelines.
