ISLAMABAD:

The government has decided to grant Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) conditional approval to hold a public gathering at Fatima Jinnah Park on April 24 – when the PTI will commemorate its 20th foundation day.

A meeting held at the interior ministry deliberated over the matter and came up a plan that included seeking assurances from PTI in writing that it would not deviate from the government’s guidelines.

These guidelines included strict adherence to entry and exit points to the venue [F-9 Park], outlawing the brandishing of sticks, ensuring adequate security measures within the venue, adhering to the rally’s timings and a pledge not to hold any mass march towards any building or on any road.

Participants will only be allowed to enter Fatima Jinnah Park through the gate facing the 9th Avenue.
