Cultural festival: Students highlight different traditions around the world

School children highlighted the importance of different cultures and traditions from around the world at a cultural show on Friday.
The festival was organised by the City School G-10 branch, with the aim of highlighting the importance of different cultures. Nursery students presented a variety of cultures from countries including India, Saudi Arabia, China, Egypt, England and Afghanistan.
Students wore costumes from each of the countries represented; these included mummies and pyramids of Egypt, Khana Kabba in Saudi Arabia, the Taj Mehal of India, kings and queens of England, and the Hyderabadi choorian of Pakistan. The children of each country presented scintillating performances, such as the Rajistani dance and Chinese dance.
A large number of parents were also present at the occasion. Federal Directorate of Education Director-General Dr Shahnaz A Riaz was chief guest at the event. She appreciated the school’s management, teachers and students for organising the event. Headmistress Fazia Waqar said the annual function was an essential element.
