Free for all? Aitchison College not providing ‘free education’
Justice Waheed gave the respondents a week to reply and adjourned the hearing of the petition
LAHORE:
Justice Shahid Waheed of the Lahore High Court on Thursday issued notices to the provincial government and the Aitchison College principal in connection with a petition on the school’s alleged failure to provide free education.
Petitioner Syed Feroze Shah Gillani said the provision of free education was constitutionally guaranteed by Article 5-A. He said Aitchison College had failed to ensure this. The petitioner requested the court to direct the school to ensure the provision of free education.
Justice Waheed gave the respondents a week to reply and adjourned the hearing of the petition following the conclusion of arguments.
