Ground-breaking ceremony: DUHS campus to be set up in DHA City

DUHS vice-chancellor Dr Masood Hameed Khan said that the university will establish the campus on 10 acres

KARACHI: An agreement to establish a new campus of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and a liver transplant centre inside DHA City Karachi was signed on Thursday. DUHS vice-chancellor Dr Masood Hameed Khan said that the university will establish the campus on 10 acres under a four-staged development programme. This includes setting up a dispensary and an ambulance service, followed by establishing a medical centre next year, a secondary-care hospital and the foundation of a medical college and teaching hospital. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Corps Commander Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar were the chief guests of the ceremony. DHA administrator Brig Zubair Ahmed said that DCK healthcare district will have different campuses, leading hospitals and medical enterprises.
