Court Orders: SHO summoned over lack of action
The petitioner requested the court to direct the SHO to take action on his complaint
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions’ judge on Tuesday sought comments from Baghbanpura SHO in 13 petitions filed by the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) seeking action against various suspects on charges of gas theft. The suspects were accused of stealing gas for use at their factories. Some of them allegedly also supplied stolen gas to 295 houses. Petitioner Waqas Bukhari, an SNGPL distribution officer, told the court that the illegal connections were detected in raids conducted across the city by his team. He said the suspects were stealing gas for use at their factories. He said that some of the suspects were also supplying stolen gas to several houses in Baghbanpura area. He said the police station concerned was approached to initiate criminal proceedings against the respondents. However, the SHO refused to lodge his complaint.
