Action: SHOs punished for failure to arrest offenders

Acting IG recommends to cut two years of all SHOs’ service

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police high-ups have cut two years service of all SHOs for their poor performance in arrest of the proclaimed offenders.

A statement issued by the Islamabad Police on Saturday said the acting IG has recommended the cut in service of all SHOs.

There are a total of 5,188 proclaimed offenders, including PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT head Tahirul Qadri, in Islamabad Capital Territory. Of 5,188, 523 suspects are wanted in murder cases, 119 for attempted murder and 232 in kidnapping cases.

The police statement said that 138 suspects are wanted in auto-theft cases and 123 for motorcycle theft.

A total of 1,569 suspects are wanted for issuing bogus cheques, 49 for road accidents and 1,767 are wanted for “various other” crimes, the police said.
