KARACHI:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded that an inter-city bus terminal of international standard be established in the city.

Speaking to the media at the Karachi Press Club after a meeting with members of Sindh Air Conditioned Bus Owners Association, PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman said despite being a business hub of the country, Karachi has been neglected by all previous provincial governments. "We demand the government to have mercy on this city," he said.

He said bus owners are facing immense problems as they do not have a proper bus terminal, which is why they are often harassed by law enforcement agencies on the issue of illegal parking.

The association's general secretary, Haji Abdul Rauf, said we have been demanding such a facility since the last 40 years but for no reason we are being neglected.  Zaman demanded that a ‘high level’ bus terminal with sufficient facilities should be constructed by the government.
