I’m middle class in my thinking: Shilpa Shetty
Actor gives insight into marriage and relationships
MUMBAI:
At a time when marriages across Bollywood are going kaput, Shilpa Shetty seems to be standing by hers. The actor and entreprenuer – who is married to Indian businessman Raj Kundra – recently shared that she has “middle class thinking” and believes “discussions and arguments” are common to any marriage.
“I feel that discussions and arguments are very normal. It is how you get over those and resolve the issue that is more important,” Shetty said during an appearance on the TV show Yaar Mera Superstar. “However you resolve it, you need to make sure you do it within that circle of marriage. That’s why I feel I’m a bit middleclass in my thinking. Trust and respect are very important for a successful marriage,” added the Dhadkan star.
Ironically, many of Shetty’s contemporaries from the film industry have parted ways from their spouses over the last couple of years. Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapur, Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan and Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora are just some of the celebrity couples who are no longer together. In light of their divorces, Shetty imparted some valuable advice about how marriages should be. “One should keep the marriage simple and never feel like you are married to keep the complications away,” she added.
Reviews are in: Is 'Kapoor & Sons' worth the hype?
Shetty and Kundra got married back in 2009 and have a son named Viaan together. This is Kundra’s second marriage.
