
Civil defence department officials inspected wood mills, furniture showrooms, petrol and gas station and agencies, high-rise buildings, and plastic and paper factories and found 65 of them not implementing the fire safety regulations.
The inspections were conducted at Chakri Road, Dhamial, Adiala Road and Kurri Road.
Special judicial magistrate Mumtaz Mughal has served notices and summoned the violators.
The district administration has directed all businesses and owners of multi-storey buildings to install fire safety equipment before the advent of summer.
The administration is imposing fines on violators and have warned them of closure if they fail to plug the loopholes.
