ISLAMABAD:

Lawmakers from the Pakistan Peoples Party have called for a probe into the cricket team’s lacklustre performance in the recent T20 World Cup and urged the authorities to take action against those responsible.

MNAs Shazia Marri, Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Mir Shabbir Ali Bijarani and Imran Zaffar Leghari submitted a calling attention notice in the National Assembly Secretariat on Friday to discuss continuous “lacklustre and uninspiring performances of Pakistan team in the Asia Cup and the World T20”.

The lawmakers have invited the attention of the minister for inter-provincial coordination and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and said alongside the players, the cricket board shares equal blame for the debacle.

“Instead of fixing the loopholes and making efforts for the revival of cricket, each is busy in blaming the other for this disastrous state of affairs,” the statement reads.
