The leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) expressed reservations about the lack of security arrangements for the upcoming by-elections in the city, during a press conference on Tuesday.
Candidates of the upcoming by-election, Amjadullah Khan (NA-245) and Amjad Asif Jah (PS-115), and Firdous Shamim Naqvi addressed the media at Insaf House.
Talking about the lack of security, Naqvi said they are unable to run their election campaigns openly because they have been receiving continuous threats from unidentified people. He demanded that their candidates and election camps be provided adequate security.
The party wants the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure deployment of Rangers and Army personnel at polling stations, Naqvi said. The party leader further said that they asked for the list of presiding officers from the ECP, which they have not received yet.
