The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet Development Committee (CDC) on Monday approved various development schemes worth Rs5.4 billion for various sectors.
The uplift schemes were approved in a meeting chaired by AJK Prime Minister Chaudary Abdul Majeed, attended by various ministers and secretaries.
The CDC approved Rs150 million for higher education and Rs105 million for high school education to construct schools in different districts of the region.
The committee also approved Rs250 million for housing planning and Rs3 billion for the construction of roads for the Mangla Dam upraising.
In addition, the CDC has also earmarked Rs230 million for the health sector; Rs240 million for roads and communication; Rs180 million for demarcation of forests; and Rs260 million for industries to establish 100 vocational centres.
The PM asked the officers to ensure proper usage of funds for public welfare projects.
