LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought comments from the Burki SHO in connection with a citizen’s petition against an alleged paedophile. Petitioner Ishtiaq Ahmed told the court that the man had trailed his children—two sons and one daughter—while they were on the way to school. He said he had earlier assaulted one of his children. Ahmed said he had gotten an FIR registered against him on this account but had later withdrawn it following mediation. Since long, he said, the man had made a habit of staring at his children when they were on their way to school. Ahmed said this had left his children shaken. He said they had also stopped going to school on this account. Ahmed said he had asked him to desist from doing so in vain. He said he had approached the pertinent SHO to have an FIR registered against him but he had not entertained his request. He requested the court to direct the SHO to file an FIR against the man.
