KARACHI:
An 11-year-old boy wearing a ‘monster mask’ was shot dead by a security guard in Ferozabad area of Karachi late Sunday, police said.

According to SHO Ferozabad, Ghulam Nabi, a private security guard accidentally shot Ali Hassan, who allegedly tried to scare him.

The boy was rushed to the Jinnah hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The suspect was taken into police custody and further investigations are underway.

The boy's family came out on Amir Khusro Road and staged a protest over the tragic death of the young boy, Express News reported.

Last year, a teenage boy was killed by police firing in Faisalabad after they had mistaken the 17-year-old for a robber.

Fahad Javaid and his friend were taking pictures of themselves with a toy pistol in a park when police from Peoples Colony police station opened fire on them. As a result, Farhan and Fahad received serious bullet injuries and were shifted to Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

On the complaint of deceased’s father, Muhammad Ali, a case under section 302, 324 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) was registered against SHO Peoples Colony Faryad Hussain and he was arrested.
