Imran urges India for a cricket series with Pakistan
The former captain said India should take a step forward

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has urged India to play a positive role in restoring bilateral cricketing ties with Pakistan.
Talking to the BBC at Kolkata airport after watching the Pakistan-India ICC World T20 match in Eden Gardens Stadium, Imran said a bilateral cricket series between the two countries was very important.
“A cricket series will be a huge affair, which will benefit the cricket boards of both the countries,” Imran said. He agreed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was financially stable and that in case of a series the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would reap more benefits.
Imran said Pakistan has always showed a positive attitude towards bilateral cricket and taken steps towards its revival. However, according to him, India has not given a positive response to Pakistan’s overtures. “India is a powerful country; therefore, there is also an element of arrogance, which is a hurdle in the way [to a series],” he said.
The former captain said India should take a step forward.
