Bringing to an end: Gang involved in theft, murder incidents busted

Investigation unit recovered cash Rs1.3m, weapons from their possession.

ISLAMABAD:
Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police has busted an interprovincial gang involved in theft as well as murder incidents and recovered gold ornaments, cash Rs 1.3 million, foreign currency and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

He said that SIU team headed by SP Muhammad Ilyas started investigation into various incidents and succeeded to bust a gang of dacoits.

The gangsters have been identified as Abdul Naseem Khan alias Abdul Afghani, Shah Agha Afghani, Musa Khan Afghani, Baon Khan, Sikandar alias Pehlwan Afgnai and Hyat.


Police team recovered gold ornaments (226 gram), six gold coins, Rs.1.3 million, foreign currency (currency of European countries, Bangladesh, India, Korea, Russia and Vietnam), seven watches, five pistols and other looted items from their possession.

During preliminary investigation, they confessed to shot dead Iqbal Baig during a looting incident

Earlier, gang leader Abdul Naseem was arrested by CIA Police Islamabad and he remained jail bird. Police team also nabbed Abdul Ghaffar alias Kanter, Anzar Gul alias Chachu who confessed to be involved in theft incidents at Farooqi Medical Store, Jagiot Road and a CDA office. Police recovered stolen items including batteries and other items from them. They were also imprisoned earlier for involvement in crime incidents.
