After March 25, the data would be shared with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for verification. Only after verification by the Nadra, the final electoral lists will be published.
The AJKEC Spokesperson, Tariq Mahmood Butt, while talking to media persons here on Sunday, said that 90 per cent of the survey to revise the electoral rolls had so far been completed.
“However, due to intermittent rains and landslides in some areas of the AJK it has been decided to give five more days for the revision of the electoral rolls,” he explained.
Butt further said that during these five days the proofreading of the voter lists would also be completed before being sent to the Nadra for final verification.
“The votes have been registered on the basis of [the data from the] computerised national identity cards,” said the AJKEC spokesperson added.
“The election commission has also asked the AJK government to stop all transfers and postings of the employees of the education and revenue departments, who are compiling the electoral rolls,” the spokesperson informed the media persons.
