Felled trees: Environmentalists warn against logging

The experts further said that deforestation could also have harmful effect on the environment and that pollution

ISLAMABAD:

Environmentalists have warned against widespread logging in the name of development cautioning.

They said that the practice will not only cause environmental damage, but would also push up the mercury level in the federal capital.

The experts further said that deforestation could also have harmful effect on the environment and that pollution would reach alarming levels if the Capital Development Authority (CDA) did not plant trees to compensate for the ones it felled.
