Assets case: PHC seeks record of former DSP’s sentencing
There was a decision by the PHC against the petitioner, the counsel said
PESHAWAR:
A division bench of the PHC issued a notice to NAB on Tuesday to file a reply in the 12-year-long prison sentence for former deputy superintendent of police Rajab Ali. The PHC sought complete records of the case.
Butt said transactions in Ali’s name were also proven wrong and some property in question was legally owned by him. He maintained the petitioner’s brother in a statement recorded before the court said they had been living abroad and the property in Ali’s name belonged to the family. Butt argued the court did not consider this point and handed the sentence.

The bench of Justices Irshad Qaiser and Syed Afsar Shah heard a petition challenging the imprisonment through Rajab’s counsel Shamail Ahmad Butt. There was a decision by the PHC against the petitioner, the counsel said. He argued the accountability court was influenced by those decisions and did not take the evidence into consideration.
