Foolproof security arrangement will be made for the Baisakhi festival, said DPO Attock Zahid Nawaz Marwat during a meeting regarding the upcoming festival at Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hassanabdal.
The DPO said Sikh pilgrims are our guests, and their security and accommodation is our responsibility.
The meeting was attended by ASP Ambreen Ali, Deputy Administrator Evacuee Property Trust Board Muhammad Abdullah, TMO Sajid Ali Khan, caretaker Asmat Khan and other officials.
All routes leading to Gurwadara will be closed for traffic, while walk-through gates and security cameras will be set up around the venue, the official added.
He said search operations will also be conducted in the surrounding areas before the festival, adding that record of all tenants will be collected in order to avoid any untoward incident.
He added that the visiting pilgrims will be allowed
to visit Kahandri ki Baithak
in groups during the three-day festival, however, pilgrims from India will not be
allowed to go outside of Gurdwara.
