LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday fixed a petition against 21 policemen and nine unidentified suspects for arguments.

Petitioner Muhammad Shabbir told the court that the Harbanspura SHO, ASI Safdar, ASI Zahid, Constable Kamran, Constable Khalid, 16 other policemen and nine of their accomplices had forcibly entered his house and attacked his family. He said they had also beaten him when he had asked as to why they had done so. Shabbir said his dog had started barking thereafter upon which they had also attacked it. He said the attack had left the dog severely injured.

He told the court that the Harbanspura SHO had abducted his father. Shabbir said he had filed a petition against him at a district and sessions court on this account. He said the court had ordered an FIR to be registered against him after hearing the petition. Shabbir said the policemen and their accomplices had attacked him and his family because he had moved the court against him.

Police told the court that the family was involved in brewing and supplying liquor. The court was told that a dozen people had died after consuming liquor that had been traced back to it. Police told the court that 19 cases had been registered against the family across various police stations.
