Targeted: Policeman shot dead

The driver of the vehicle managed to escape

PESHAWAR: A policeman from Kohat was killed in the jusrisdiction of Badabher police station Tuesday. Niaz Muhammad was in the city for some work when he was pulled out of a van and shot dead. A police official said Niaz was the victim of a targeted attack. Meanwhile, a police contingent was attacked in Chamkani Monday night. Chamkani SHO Ghaffar Ali told The Express Tribune the incident occurred near Haji Camp area of GT Road where a police contingent was on patrol. “The police tried to flag down a vehicle for a routine check,” he said. “However, the driver refused to stop and opened fire on the police personnel.” According to Ali, the police officials remained unhurt and opened fire at the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
