Quality control: Restaurant in Liberty sealed over poor hygiene (Lahore city)

A Punjab Food Authority team, headed by Operations Director Ayesha Mumtaz, sealed Monal restaurant in Liberty for poor hygiene and violation of quality standards.


A PFA press statement said the raiding team found open drains and filthy refrigerators in the resturant’s kitchen. It said the restaurant was found using expired food products and the management failed to produce medical certificates for the workers.

Separately, a PFA Samnabad team seized 12,000 litres of adulterated milk and sent samples to the laboratory for further examination. Perveen Marriage Hall on Poonch Road was sealed over poor hygiene conditions and use of detergent for dish washing.

PFA Ravi Town team imposed fines on Ali Hajvery Banquet Hall in Shahdara area and Aziz Bhatti Town team on Al-Karim Sweets for violation of quality standards and selling expired products, respectively. The Jallo Mor team imposed fines on Ideal Banquet Hall; Nishter Town team on Butt Hotel and International Mourian Beverages ; and Shalimar Town team on Lahore Broast over poor hygiene.
