LAHORE:

The Lahore Museum remained closed from 10am to 1pm on Wednesday. PRO Sobia Tahir said the museum had been closed for the visit of a foreign military delegation. “The museum reopened at around 1pm,” she said. Requesting anonymity, a museum official said that they had not been consulted ahead of the closure. “They deployed military guards outside the premises. No such thing had happened when the Turkish mayor visited the museum,” he said. Extra security was also visible on The Mall. Rangers personnel controlled traffic in the area. “The security was upgraded for the Turkish naval chief who also visited. Since it was managed by another security agency, I cannot comment.”
