Creative director of Zamana Interiors, Seema Iftikhar takes us on a tour of her most comfortable and introspective space

As grandiose as Seema Iftikhar’s furniture is, her use of space is minimal, classy and very homey. One would expect a furniture designer to showcase a more formal sitting area but to our surprise, she takes us right to the most comfortable room in the house, her bedroom.

This open airy space is perfectly lit and overlooks her beautiful garden. Very minimally decorated, the most eye-catching feature in the room is the gorgeous French tapestry on her headboard, acquired from a furniture fabric expo in America.

“I love this particular spot because I love to look out into the garden. This is where I do all my thinking, plotting and planning.”

Be it jewellery or furniture, Seema Iftikhar’s bedroom is her introspective space. The entire vibe of the room is relaxed, comfortable and chic. Along with pictures of her family, the wall boasts a gorgeous Shakil Saigol painting.

“This particular piece is very close to my heart as it was a present from my daughter from her first pay check.”

The room has a muted feel with pops of colour and Seema prides herself that her house does not look like a showroom: “It is very organically achieved and every part of the house is fully utilized and lived in.”
