SHABQADAR: The people of 25 villages along the Mohmand-Shabqadar border continued their protest on Tuesday demanding development in their area. However, they ended the boycott against the polio campaign. The area was part of Mohmand Agency’s lower subdivision of Ekka Ghund till 1998. After 1998, the villages came under the Charsadda district administration. However, since then, not much was spent on development as neither Charsadda nor Mohmand Agency took full responsibility for the area. “We ended our boycott of polio on the intervention of the local administration, but will continue to protest till the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister gives an assurance for our future,” said Jalil Khan, a villager at the protest camp on Mohmand-Shabqadar Road.
