Speakers paid rich tributes to renowned poet and Naat khawan late Bashir Hussain Nazim, who made himself prominent as ‘Ashaq-e-Rasool’ through his writing and recitation, at an event on Monday at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
Late Nazim who had earned Presidential Award for Pride of Performance for Naat recitations died in 2012.
He was a true lover of Allama Iqbal and was also known for his command on Urdu and Persian languages, the speakers added.
AIOU Vice-Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui said the university will produce PhD thesis on life and work of late Nazim.
