Public health: Construction of LGH block III completed

Besides the operation theatres, he said the new building in Block-III was also equipped with an intensive care unit

Construction of a five-storey building in the Lahore General Hospital Block-III has been completed, Post-Graduate Medical Institute principal Khalid Mahmood said on Sunday.


He said that Rs580 million of the Rs720 million allocated for the project had been spent on construction. He said the remaining Rs140 million would now be used to purchase medical equipment.


Mahmood said that six of the 18 operation theatres in the new building were already functional. He said the theatres would be used by the Surgery, Gynecology, Urology and Orthopedic departments.

Besides the operation theatres, he said the new building in Block-III was also equipped with an intensive care unit (ICU). He said the ICU had 13 beds and 17 private rooms.

Mahmood said a Central Sterilisation Supply Department (CSSD) had also been established in the new block.
