Emergency response: Training of 20 Rescue officials begins
These officers will be trained by Pakistan Army officers
LAHORE:
A capacity building training for a 20-member team of the Rescue 1122’s Urban Search and Rescue Unit (USAR) started on Sunday. The team includes nine officers from the Emergency Services Academy and station coordinators from nine divisional headquarters and an officer each from Lahore and Rawalpindi offices of the Rescue 1122. These officers will be trained by Pakistan Army officers. After the completion of their training, the 20 Rescue 1122 officers will hold similar trainings for their other colleagues. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Emergency Services Academy (ESA) Director General Brig (r) Amir Hamza said the training was needed to further improve Rescue 1122’s response to complex emergencies.
