RAWALPINDI:
The United States special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador Richard Olson called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters on Saturday.
Overall regional security situation with particular reference to the situation in Afghanistan came under discussion during the meeting, said a press release issued by ISPR. Ambassador Olson appreciated the efforts of Pakistan in fight against terrorism, the press release said.
The meeting comes as top officials from Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and the US meet for quadrilateral talks in Islamabad to finalise a roadmap for resurrecting the stalled peace process in Afghanistan.
