World T20 Kamran, Sharjeel in line for recall
All-rounder Nawaz likely to be named in squad as well
DUBAI:
Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal and opener Sharjeel Khan are being considered for Pakistan's World T20 squad as selectors look to bolster the top order, while all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz could be also be a surprise pick for the mega event in India.
The national selection committee, led by Haroon Rasheed, needs to submit the final 16-member squad by Sunday and the deliberations continue between Rasheed and T20I skipper Shahid Afridi, both of whom are present in the UAE, while head coach Waqar Younis has already given his input.

Akmal, who was part of the squad which won the World T20 in 2009, has been in sensational form in domestic cricket, and with Pakistan struggling to exploit the power-play overs, the selectors are mulling bringing in someone who could give them an explosive start.
Sharjeel, whose bright start has been blighted by a string of poor performances has also emerged as a contender and might get his chance to prove his mettle once again.

Meanwhile, Nawaz has seriously boosted his chances of getting in the World T20 squad after his impressive man-of-the-match performance in the Pakistan Super League opener for the Quetta Gladiators.
“We don't expect too many changes. The composition is good enough for now and there are only one or two players who are not performing,” Haroon told The Express Tribune. “We've targeted some players in the PSL and are keeping a watchful eye.”
