All-parties conference: Charsadda deemed sensitive district

A large number of speakers insisted political parties should join hands to eliminate militancy

CHARSADDA:
Various political parties have deemed Charsadda a sensitive district and demanded a judicial enquiry into the attack on Bacha Khan University (BKU). This was announced during an all-parties conference (APC) held in Charsadda on Wednesday. The meeting was convened by Jamaat-e-Islami Charsadda chapter. Speaking on the occasion, Shah said Charsadda is a sensitive district where ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman have been targeted in the past. “However, the government has never tried to address these concerns,” he said. “As a result, acts of terror have become common and no one is safe anymore.” A large number of speakers insisted political parties should join hands to eliminate militancy. Dr Asim Bangash, a BKU administration official, said the government had done little to enquire into the Army Public School attack. “Everyone is now raising question about security arrangements at BKU,” he said.
