PEMRA advice: No TV shows promoting crime
TV channels have been advised to comply with the Electronic Media (Programmes and Advertisements) Code of Conduct-2015
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued an advice to all TV channels on Wednesday conveying them the deep concern on the rising trend of low quality re-enactment programmes being shown by TV channels and non-compliance to the Code of Conduct. The advice has been issued in pursuance to the recommendations of all PEMRA’s Councils of Complaints during the meeting. All TV channels have been advised to comply with the Electronic Media (Programmes and Advertisements) Code of Conduct-2015, approved and implemented by the Supreme Court and they have been asked to responsibly handle discussion on TV screens about foreign policy issues, which is becoming a major cause of sectarian unrest in the country.
