International standard: New museum to be set up in capital, says Siddiqui

Says will help promote heritage

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Wednesday said that a national museum of international standards would be established in the capital.

He was talking to the media after a meeting held here at the Department of Archaeology and Museum (DOAM).

Siddiqui said that they were striving to start construction work during the current year and directions had been issued in that regard.

He said that they believed that the establishment of a national museum would help promote and preserve the cultural and literary heritage of the country.

Siddiqui directed officials of DOAM to expedite the process for establishment of the museum in the federal capital.

He directed the concerned officials to launch a website for the promotion of the activities and relevant data for the benefit and knowledge of the public at large.
