On Thursday, the bank’s assistant vice president Ghazanfar Ali filed the writ petition challenging as many as 12 appointments, which he said were illegal. His lawyer Qazi Ahmed Naeem told the court that the bank’s president Zaka Ashraf had appointed several people to the Kissan Support Services in violation of the rules and in connivance with the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan.
“These appointment were based on nepotism,” he maintained.
The lawyer said the appointments violated of Establishment Division’s rules.
Qazi maintained that the bank’s president’s appointment was declared illegal by LHC in July 2010. This case is, however, pending in an intra-court appeal.
Justice Anwar Khan issued notices to the bank’s president, the finance secretary and the governor of the state bank for January 20.
