Promoting education: Experts to identify innovative ideas

The conference will cover wide-ranging subjects of formal, non-formal and special education

The leading distance learning institute in the country will host 700 national and international academics for a two-day conference on research and practices in education next week, said a press release issued on Monday.


Dr Lynn Fendler from the Michigan State University (US), and Dr Jean B. Hache, honorary professor Universite De Montreal, Canada will be the keynote speakers, it said.

The faculty of education at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is organising the event to provide a platform for researchers to present their work to the global community.

Dr Shahid Siddiqui, vice-chancellor AIOU, hoped it will highlight innovative methods of research and identify new ways of connecting learners through the internet.

The conference will cover wide-ranging subjects of formal, non-formal and special education for secondary to high-level students.
