Temblor unending: Tremors felt in Malakand Division
The epicentre of the earthquake was the Hindu Kush region

Tremors were felt in Malakand Division, including Swat, Chitral, Shangla and Dir, on Sunday. The origin of the 5.2 magnitude earthquake was said to be in the Hindu Kush Mountain Range. The earthquake struck at approximately 10:35am and lasted for a few seconds. Earlier, an earthquake measuring 4.8 jolted parts of Chitral, Malakand, Upper Dir and Lower Dir early Saturday morning. The tremors caused panic among locals. The epicentre of the earthquake was the Hindu Kush region. However, no major damage was reported. Residents of Chitral evacuated buildings and rushed outside as soon as the tremors were felt. Consequently, a stampede was caused where several people were injured.
