Development work: Chamkani-Badabher link road to be expedited, says CM

Khattak gave instructions to expedite work on the project to facilitate commuters

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed authorities to initiate designing the proposed dual carriageway link road from Chamkani to Badabher.


The chief minister issued these directives during a meeting at CM House, stated a hand out issued on Sunday. Government officials and project consultants also attended the meeting. Khattak gave instructions to expedite work on the project to facilitate commuters.


The officials at the meeting told Khattak the proposed project was costing Rs4 billion and would improve connectivity to the densely populated areas of Peshawar, including Hazar Khwani, Surizai Bala, Phandu Payan and Badabher. The road would be designed through a corridor, linking the national road grid connecting N-5,N-1, N-55 and Ring Road. Officials added the proposed link road would cater to traffic problems, reduce travel times and would facilitate free flow of heavy vehicles.
