District councils: Elections for reserved seats on Feb 8

All UC chairmen will cast ballot to elect indirect members of the councils

CHAKWAL/ATTOCK: Elections for reserved seats of the Chakwal and Attock District Councils will be held on February 8. Municipal committees will elect members on reserved seats on February 11, while elections at the Union Council level will be held on February 14. The Chakwal district council will have 15 reserved seats for women; four each for peasants, technocrats and non-Muslims; and one reserved seat for a youth member. Returning officers will vet nomination papers on January 22 and 23, and will hear appeals against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers till January 27. Election symbols will be allotted, and a final list of the candidates will be issued on January 28. All UC chairmen will cast ballot to elect indirect members of the councils. While at UC level, general councils will also cast votes to elect their colleagues on reserved seats.
