KARACHI:

After an Apex Committee on security took notice of the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) raid on the AKD Group’s office, the group’s chief Aqeel Karim Dhedi has welcomed the decision, terming it a blow to elements conspiring against the group.

The Apex Committee in a meeting had taken notice of the raids and set up a review committee.

Dhedhi said that FIA’s action against AKD Securities was tantamount to targeting the whole business community and thanked Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and other members of the Apex Committee.

The AKD Group chief added that he had dispatched a complaint to the interior ministry, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and DG FIA but it seemed that the relevant organisations were under the influence of the conspiring elements – hence no action was taken on these complaints.

Justice | 8 years ago | Reply Dear ET. What is a Apex committee and why is it relevant? Is not justice to be done through the court system? Sind governor/CM also approved a law not to prosecute people arrested by rangers and set them free. They are quite "approachable" by the guilty
